“People don’t care what you know until they know that you care.” This is a core value of every LifeLink International staff member. We talk about it, pray about it, and meditate on it. It drives the core of our ministry.
What does it mean?
It means that we value relationships. It means we believe ministering to the heart is of utmost importance. It means we believe outreach literally means reaching out.
Let me lay out a scenario for you. You have a neighbor you desperately want to share Christ with. You’ve tried getting up on a stage and preaching to him. You’ve tried organizing on outreach targeted at him. You’ve even tried leaving pamphlets with scripture references laying conveniently on his porch where he’ll be sure to see them.
But it hasn’t worked. Why?
Because the most essential part of the process has been skipped. The part where you hang out and get to know each other over coffee. The part where you learn some history and you invest yourself into another person.
The part where they learn how much you care.
The part where you become friends.
The part where you represent Jesus’s life, not just his words.
